History
The Irish Support and Advice Service was set up in 1969 and has been existent in different locations (previously next to St. Augustine's Church and now operating from the Irish Centre in Hammersmith, West London). The Irish Support and Advice Service provides a culturally sensitive advice service on social welfare law, health matters, culturally sensitive issues and housing options. Our services are independent, confidential and accessible to all people of Irish descent.

To relieve poverty and distress among immigrants to the United Kingdom and others. We aim to provide advice and support to primarily the elderly Irish community, many of whom have long-term health issues. Our aims are to:
- Maintain our Equal Opportunities Policy by ensuring fair treatment for all.
- Recognise that certain groups within society face discrimination and therefore we actively target older Irish people, travellers and people with disabilities and health needs.
- Liaise and network with Statutory and Voluntary Bodies towards developing our services.
- Encourage a recognition and appreciation of the multicultural society we live in.
- Stimulate an awareness of the rich cultural heritage of Irish people.
- Identify and respond to those in need by offering a professional and culturally sensitive service.
